Python Automation & Scripting

Scrapers, API clients, ETL glue, scheduled jobs — clean Python that runs without babysitting.

When no-code tools hit a wall, Python takes over. We write automation scripts, scrapers, API clients, and scheduled jobs that are testable, logged, and deployable — not one-off scripts that die the first time the API changes.

What we deliver.

  • Python 3.11+ projects with uv or Poetry, type hints, and linting set up
  • Web scraping with requests, httpx, Playwright, or Scrapy — with respectful rate limits
  • API client wrappers with retry, pagination, and proper error handling
  • ETL glue — pulling from APIs, transforming with pandas or polars, loading to Postgres, Snowflake, or S3
  • Scheduled jobs via cron, GitHub Actions, Airflow, or a simple scheduler service
  • Structured logging, metrics, and alerts on failure
  • Dockerfiles, CI workflows, and a one-command local dev setup

Use cases.

Competitive intelligence scraper

Daily pull of pricing, listings, or reviews from target sites. Stored in a database, diffed against yesterday, delivered as a summary.

API integration

A SaaS tool you use has an API but no off-the-shelf integration. We wrap it cleanly and feed the data into your warehouse, Slack, or app.

Reconciliation script

Comparing records across two systems — finance, inventory, subscriptions — and surfacing the diffs for a human to resolve.

Data migration

One-shot script to move data between systems, with dry-run mode, validation, and a rollback plan.

Questions.

Where will the script run?+
Whatever matches your stack: a VM, Docker, GitHub Actions, Lambda, or Airflow. We optimise for where your team already runs things — not a new platform to learn.
What about scraping that needs to look like a browser?+
Playwright for anything JavaScript-heavy. We are careful about rate limits and terms of service — if a target is clearly off-limits, we will say so.
Do you write tests?+
Yes. pytest, with the critical paths covered. We aim for tests that catch regressions without turning the project into a test-suite museum.
Can you maintain the script after delivery?+
Yes — either through a maintenance retainer or sprint-based work. Most scrapers need occasional updates when the target changes.
